Pediatric Occupational Therapy concentrates on enhancing and improving children’s development in visual and manual coordination.

Early play skills such as block construction, scribbling, manipulating shape puzzles and pegs and beads form an important foundation for a child’s learning in school.

Vital’s occupational therapists also treat children who need help in developing self-help skills and feeding. For a child who has oral-motor or feeding concerns, occupational therapists may co-treat with a Speech-Language Pathologist. Occupational Therapists at Vital Rehabilitation are also experienced in Sensory Integration treatment. Sensory Integration refers to the ability of the brain to organize basic sensory information such as touch movement, body awareness and sound in order to respond to the surrounding environment with meaningful action.

Therapy sessions are available in the most comfortable and effective setting for the child – in-home or Vital’s pediatric outpatient facility.
